I Love Utah

It is 7:05 in the morning, and I was hoping to sleep in a bit. Our 20 month old had a little to do with my early(er) rising. No matter, for this morning our family of three will embark on our weekly breakfast ritual-Chick-fil-A and Starbucks. And it's free! We received CFA coupons for a free breakfast item since, on our last visit, we received biscuits that were abnormally bad. And the Starbucks will be free thanks to my parents' Christmas gifts-Starbucks gift cards!

Have I mentioned how much I love Utah? Having just come from a day of worship, hearing God's Word preached (by Greg...but I'm not biased), and fellowshipping with my church family has made me so grateful for where the Lord has led us.

This is my church in the summer. I do need to get a picture of it in the winter. The snow banks are impressive.

 Across the street.

And this is behind the church. It's not unusual in the summer for the church members to become distracted watching the horses gallop by. I have succumbed to this temptation myself.

Sledding

Last Saturday, our youth group went sledding, and Greg, Paton, and I joined them. Leave it to the teens to pick a monster hill! The weather was wonderful, and we really enjoyed ourselves. We brought along the sled that Paton's grandparents bought him for Christmas. Since that little sled can really get going, Greg and I positioned ourselves so that one of us would catch him. There was a creek at the end of the hill, and Paton wouldn't have known to how to bail!

It was especially hard hiking back up the hill since the snow came up to your knees!

Back to normality

Paton and I flew to CO January 3 and stayed until the 8th. What a wonderful time we had with my family (including my brother and sister-in-law). Of course, reality always hits as it was time for us to fly back after a few days. And now we're back home enjoying the snow and cold weather.
