Awana

This is our group of Awana kids last Wednesday night. They are all making goofy faces so this probably isn't their most flattering pose! Below is what was waiting for me when Paton and I were heading off to the Awana Grand Prix yesterday morning. Before Greg left (he needed to shovel the church sidewalks), he scraped a message on the ice. It doesn't take much to make me happy!

Once arriving at the church for the Grand Prix, Terry could help your car out with last minute improvements. Some cars weighed too much and some didn't weigh enough. Below is Sonja, Luis, Jeffrey, and Cisco. Greg and Neil helped these four make their cars.

The tiger, shark, and heart car were three of the four that Neil and Greg helped the kids make. Luis' car (the tiger) won second place in creative design! Below are a few  more cars.

Colleen loves to watch Paton. He loves to be with her as well so it's a perfect combo!

Jeffrey's car won 2nd for speed, and Luis' won second for design. Great job guys!

Snowshoeing

There's a golf course behind the condos where Greg and I live, and recently I've discovered the wonderful art of snowshoeing! All of my exhaustion is rewarded while I enjoy the tranquility and beauty. Here are a few scenes I captured on my latest walk.

Adventures in Feb!

Greg and I attended a skiing film several months ago, and as a "thank-you" we got tickets to the Canyons ski resort. What a beautifully HUGE ski area! The weather was perfect for most of the day. Just about an hour before it closed, a snow/hail type storm rolled in. The resort closed the lifts until the lightning ceased. Since he was at the top of the mountain at the time, Greg and several other skiers had to take off their skis, hike up to a trail that led down the mountain, and then ski down to the gondola that would take them to the parking lot. What an adventure they had! I was already in the car waiting for him since I got worn out about an hour earlier.

 Daddy and Paton in Ogden.

My first moose sighting-a cow and her calf! A friend from church called me at 7:15am to let me know, and I rushed over as soon as I could!

Twin Night at Awana produced these two!

Paton loves to play the piano. He's tall enough to push back the cover and turn it on, and just recently he's started to sing while he plays.

Photos

Here are a few photos to catch you up on things.
Paton can be very content sitting on the couch watching Handy Manny. I don't mind since it helps me get a lot done. Laundry, cleaning, Bible study questions, church bulletin prep, scheduling, etc., are all things that I can get done while he's being such a good boy.

Where's Waldo? He figured out how to get behind the curtain and enjoyed pounding on the glass doors.
It was so cute I had to snap a picture.

When it gets quiet in Paton's room, I sneak over to check on him. Often I catch him just like this...reading.

On a routine drive through the canyon, I spotted my first bald eagle viewed in the wild. I've seen them in zoos plenty of times but never in their natural habitat.
